Radiologist and Ultrasound Expert, Dr. Gail Weingast
These days, Dr. Gail Weingast is perhaps best known as a highly regarded radiology specialist at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut, where she is the Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging. Of course, her path to her current position wasn’t always a straight line. For example, her education began in 1969, when she attended Jackson College, Tufts University, in Medford, Massachusetts and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish. That seems to suggest that Gail didn’t always want to be a doctor, but who knows.
If that assumption was correct, though, it wouldn’t be long before her decision to be a doctor was obvious. It was only a few years later when she attended the Boston University School of Medicine, which is where she officially became Dr. Gail Weingast, MD in 1976. From there, though, she was off and running. She went to Denver, where Dr. Gail Weingast completed a pediatrics internship and a pediatric residency over the next four years, as well as a three-year residency radiology and a fellowship in ultrasound at Colorado General Hospital, all by 1983, before completing her post-graduate radiology studies St. Anthony’s Hospital by 1984.
